Browser Recording Formats: WebM/Opus
Chrome/Edge MediaRecorder usually outputs WebM with Opus audio: small and royalty-free, but not every player/editor supports it directly. For MP3, convert locally or export from an editor.
WebM/Opus: native in browsers and small.
Safari may output MP4/AAC.
MP3 requires transcoding.
Preview first; if it will not play, switch browsers or convert.
Check whether your editor supports WebM.
